Zirconium is a high-performance ceramic material with excellent properties, such as high hardness and resistance to fracture. In vibro-abrasive processing, it is used to add extra depth to the mirror shine effect to achieve the so-called “superfinish”. Zircon beads, the so-called “caviar”, are smoother and heavier than porcelain and can therefore add an extra dimension of shine to jewellery, especially gold jewellery.
