3D printing/additive manufacturing

3D printing is currently used not only for the production of prototypes but also for the production of a series of functional parts, especially those with complex geometry, such as prosthetic elements, machine parts or tools, and is used in many industries.

This technology involves applying a building material layer by layer and selectively bonding it into a form based on a model previously generated in a computer program. There are many different 3D printing methods – from sintering thermoplastic materials in a string to advanced powder technologies.

Although 3D printing produces a ready element, it often requires finishing processing. In the case of high roughness, sandblasting is used for this purpose. In the final stage, the part can be smoothed in vibration-abrasive processing using disc finishing machines  or vibratory polishers.
