Jewellery production

Jewellery is a centuries-old craft that, thanks to the development of technology, has become one of the branches of industry. This happened thanks to devices that allow for the reproduction of designed copies on a mass scale. This does not only apply to the production of models but also to the final stage, i.e. precise surface processing giving a mirror shine.

Half a century ago, mass processing was used in polishing tumblers, which allowed for wet grinding and polishing using different abrasive media This process gave good results, but lasted from a dozen to several dozen hours.

Currently, tumblers have been replaced by so-called rotary polishers, i.e. disc finishing machines, which shorten these processes from several dozen minutes to several hours, and round vibrators designed for delicate elements for which the centrifugal force acting in disc finishers is too aggressive. The latest technology for obtaining a mirror shine is electropolishing. Here, processing times are a matter of minutes.
